Judith Holmes

Obituary of Judith Ann Holmes

Judith Holmes, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devout follower of Christ, peacefully passed away on February 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.

Born on March 22, 1946, in Amery, Wisconsin, Judy was the cherished daughter of parents Ray and Doris Miller. Judy embodied a carefree and joyful spirit throughout her life, cherishing friends, the pleasure of reading, beautiful lighthouses, the excitement of travel and sporting events with her family and taking every opportunity for a family picture.

Judy shared 56 beautiful years of marriage with her true love and devoted husband, Gary. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other. Their union was further blessed with two wonderful sons, Jon and Paul. Their marriage not only brought love and laughter into their lives but also served as a guiding light for their two sons, inspiring them to find their faithful companions in marriage.

As a mother, Judy's love knew no bounds. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding her children, instilling in them the values of kindness, integrity, and faith. Her devotion to her family was unmatched, and her presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of being loved by her.

Judy's faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. She found solace and strength in her relationship with the Lord, and her devotion inspired all who knew her. She embodied the definition of a servant's heart, giving to all without regard for her own sacrifices.

In addition to her husband, Gary, Judy is survived by her sons, Jon (Karla) Holmes and Paul (Tina) Holmes, grandsons, Ben Holmes and Luke Holmes, and brothers Garry (Sue) Miller and Duane Miller, along with many cousins and an endless number of those who considered Judy a friend.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Doris Miller, and her dear brother, Larry Miller, whom she has missed every day. While our hearts are shattered by her departure, we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and in heaven, embraced in the loving arms of Jesus.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Eastern Heights Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service (9:00-11:00 a.m.), and interment will be in Union Cemetery, in Maplewood.

Judy will always be remembered for her kind spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering faith. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that the legacy she leaves behind will be forever cherished.
